Las Vegas Wedding Story

We got married in April in Vegas and it was FANTASTIC!

We booked our flights with Virgin and they were very good. Only hiccup was when we checked in they thought they would not be able to seat us together - a few tears from the bride to be and it was all sorted!

We stayed in the Mirage - huge and wonderful. We had a deluxe room which we booked through expedia and got a good rate. The bathroom was huge with a massive walk in shower, separate whirlpool bath and two large vanity sinks.

We had a fantastic few of the volcano and the strip - the volcano isn’t much to write home about though!!

We downloaded the forms for the marriage licensce from the courthouse website and filled them in before going. This did save us time when we arrived at the courthouse. The link to the website is:

The courthouse is in a slightly seedier part of Las Vegas, it is between the strip and downtown. You can get a bus to about one block from the courthouse. Being in the queue is great fun for people watching, the couple behind us were eloping!! Once you have your marriage license you can just go and get married. Remember to take proof of identity with you, we took our passports.

We bought our wedding bands froma jewellers just around the corner from the courthouse - guns in one case, rings in the other - brilliant fun!!

We had booked our ceremony prior to going to vegas. We surfed the web and contacted a number of the chapels. We ended getting married in the Graceland chapel which was as tacky as anything - we loved it. We were picked up in a limo by an Elvis look alike driver and driven to the chapel. I was given a boquet of flowers and John a buttonhole. They allowed you to take your own photos as well as them taking theirs. We were given their role of spool at the end. Some chapels will not allow you to take your own photos.

The ceremony lasted about 10 mins and we were given a video there and then of it. We were then driven back in the limo to our hotel. Fab

I loved Vegas and can’t wait to go back!
