I visited Grand Canyon, Ariz., in November. I drove my mother there, who was visiting from Florida, so that we could mark off the “Big Hole” from our “places we hadn’t been to” list. We arrived late afternoon Friday, and watched the sunset. The next morning, it seemed we were the only people in the park. It was very cold, quiet and breathtaking. Unless you see it in person, there is really no way to feel how big it is. The colors of the rocks change as the sun rises and sets, the mule deer were still seeking out food for winter survival. The air is crisp and clean; the vistas are magnificent. Visiting that late in the year allows you to see the beauty without the tourists. I would recommend it to anyone.
