We Love All Of The Parks
Having stayed at the Kaibab Lodge in the early 90’s. We thought it was awful. Old creaky beds, tiny bathrooms (where if you sat on the toilet you could rest your arms on the sink). It was cheap then - about what you would expect to pay for a halfway decent motel like the Day’s Inn. It was close to the Grand Canyon.
Hopefully they have fixed it up since.
We have always flown into Las Vegas (because of the cheap fares from Minnesota).
We love the fact that the North Rim gets only 10% of the visitors to the canyon. But the North Rim gets a higher proportion of visitors wanting to do serious hiking.
We liked hiking Zion better than the Canyon. I feel better hiking UP first, which makes hiking down something to look forward to.
We loved all of the parks in Southern Utah; Zion, Bryce, and of course the Grand Canyon.
