When It Rains (in August), It Pours!

OK, so we all know to bring rain gear when we travel, but we were totally unprepared for the intensity of the downpour in the Canyon. Rainy Season comes on fast and furious. Dry cracked gullies became rivers within minutes. Shoes? Well, regular sneakers or hiking shoes are of no use. And who has enough foresight to travel with high-water waders? So we got a little soggy, but after the downpour ended (30 minutes) the sunset and the rainbows were absolutely glorious — so much so, that we forgot about our wet feet and dripping hair.
